CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

Our GP's have asked that patients must not come to the practice if you have flu/coronavirus symptoms

Please go to 111 online services and complete the questionnaire for advice.

or call 111 if patients have not got the facilities to use the internet.

Public Health England and NHS England have advised General Practices to disable patient on line access for booking appointments only.  As from Wednesday 10 March 2020 Dalton Surgery has disabled this as a temporary measure.  Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please use this link for updates on Coronavirus however this is changing daily.

Covid-19 UPDATE:

The practice has changed the way we offer our services due to National Guidance encouraging practices to move to a total triage system whether this is done by phone or online.  The GP's will make a clinical decision whether to see patients face to face.  Patients can order their prescriptions over the telephone and will be asked for a nominated pharmacy so the prescriptions can go direct to the pharmacy.

Keep yourself and our staff safe.

Covid-19 - Asthma / COPD patients

“We have been made aware of some inaccurate information circulating regarding special ‘rescue packs’ for patients with pre-existing respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We are not currently changing our usual advice about emergency supplies of antibiotics and steroids. The main reason for this is that we understand neither would help in the early stages of a COVID-19 infection and people might delay seeking advice if they became increasingly short of breath Please do not contact your GP practice for a rescue pack. You should continue to manage your condition in the usual way and if you feel you have symptoms of COVID-19, go to https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 before doing anything else. We are getting increased demand for inhalers from people who have not had inhalers for several years. This is not recommended and inhalers should only be restarted if your symptoms have returned. Please only request inhalers if you are currently using them and please visit AsthmaUk.org or British Lung Foundation UK for further information. We would also like to reassure you that the large majority of people, even with underlying risk factors, will have a mild to moderate illness and recover well. Information on covid-19 can be found online at https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19”

ZERO TOLERANCE

The NHS operate a zero tolerance policy with regard to violence and abuse and the practice has the right to remove violent patients from the list with immediate effect in order to safeguard practice staff, patients and other persons. Violence in this context includes actual or threatened physical violence or verbal abuse which leads to fear for a person’s safety. In this situation we will notify the patient in writing of their removal from the list and record in the patient’s medical records the fact of the removal and the circumstances leading to it.
